Laxmikanta Padhi holds the position of Professor and former Head of the Department of Philosophy at the University of North Bengal in Siliguri. He obtained his B.A. and M.A. from Utkal University in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, and M.Phil. and PhD. from Jadavpur University, Kolkata.
His teaching focuses on Applied Ethics, Environmental Philosophy, Bhāratiya Darṡan and Philosophy of Religion. Currently, he is engaged in research on Itihāsa and Dharmaśāstra, exploring their philosophical implications and historical contexts.
