Dr. Komal Agarwal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, University of Delhi. She obtained her doctorate from the Center for English Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi in 2019. Her doctoral thesis was entitled The Shifting Paradigm of Dharma: A Study of Select Modern Retellings of the Mahabharata. Her research interests centre around the epic Mahabharata and its performative and popular versions, classical Indian literature and aesthetics, folk and popular cultures in India, gender studies and translation studies. She is the founding coordinator of the Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems in her institution. She is also passionate about environmental advocacy and is the co-convener of Harithkram, the environment society of her College.
