A clinical psychologist by training served as an academic and superannuated as Professor of Psychology. While conducting doctoral research nearly five decades ago on Altered States of Consciousness I was providentially made aware of the difference between Sanatana Dharma approach and modern psychological approach to Consciousness. Since then I have spent the rest of career examining Indian Knowledge Systems and how Indian Psychology differs from scientific psychology and have tried to link the two through theoretical and empirical strategies and continue to do so.
