Pallavi Joshi is a 3-time National Award-winning actor. She started her career as a child artiste in the early seventies, and has been a part of the Indian Cinema for more than 50 years. She has acted in, almost 100 Television Shows, and 60 odd films until now.
She has, to her credit popular serials like ‘Mrignayani, Discovery of India, Aarohan, Buniyad, Katha Sagar, Hum Hindustani, Kab Tak Pukaroon, Alpaviraam, Justajoo’ Kehna Hai Kuchh Mujhko, Peshwa Bajirao and the ever-popular game show ‘Antakshari’.
Having acted in popular films like ‘Tehelka, Panaah, Daata, Andha Yudh, Suraj ka Satwaan Ghoda’ and the Indo-South African, English film ‘Making of The Mahatma’, she went on to win her first national award, (Jury special) best female actor for her performance in ‘Woh Chhokri’ in 1995.
Her second National Award came for her 2019 film The Tashkent Files, in which she portrayed the character of a crippled historian, and her 3rd National Award again for The Kashmir Files, a 2022 film, for her hard-hitting portrayal of Prof. Radhika Menon. Simultaneously, she also won the Nargis Dutt award for Best film on National Integration as a producer.
She produced and acted in the last of the ‘Files’ series called The Bengal Files, thus successfully delivering a trilogy on the three pillars of Indian democracy; Right to Truth, Right to Justice & Right to Life. All three films were produced by Pallavi herself and written & directed by her husband Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri.
Apart from acting Pallavi has single handedly produced and written the popular Doordarshan serial ‘Arohan’, which was based on the first batch of women in the Indian Navy.
She also produced the Popular Marathi Paranormal Thriller Asambhav which won awards in all categories for all the 3 years that it was on air. Thereafter she produced yet another hard-hitting serial Anubandh which boldly dealt with the issue of surrogacy. She also was the most popular hostess of Idea Sa Re Ga Ma Pa for Zee Marathi
