Dr Richa Sinha MBE is the Co-Founder and Chairperson of the Scottish Hindu Foundation, the representative body uniting Scottish Mandirs in their engagement with the Scottish Government. She was awarded an MBE in the 2025 King’s Honours List for her services tackling Hinduphobia in Scotland and the UK. A dentist by profession, she also serves as the Hindu Representative on the Faith and Belief Committee in the Scottish Government and is a member of BBC Scotland’s Advisory Committee on Religion and Ethics.
She is working with the UNHRC to secure recognition of Hinduphobia at the international level. Dr Sinha has led a number of community initiatives, including programmes to unite the Scottish Hindu community through initiatives such as the Hindu Parent Network and the Dharmocracy campaign, which encourages political engagement of the Hindu community through active participation. She is also the Co-Founder and Trustee of Harmony Over Hate, a global charity dedicated to building harmony, supporting victims of hate, promoting dialogue across faiths, and empowering communities through education and collaboration.
In addition, since 2013, she has been actively involved with the Hindi Pathshala programme and is campaigning for Hindi to be included in the National Curriculum. She also the serving President of the Hindu Economic Forum -Scotland.
